Wolverhampton City Cycle Forum
Following on from the WoW report on Cycle Fora in England (see Document Archive), a city cycle forum chaired by the portfolio holder for transportation and regeneration was set up and met for the first time in May 2004
The forum is a branch of the Wolverhampton Transport Users Forum. It is open to any member of the public or any group interested in promoting cycling in Wolverhampton. It meets 3 to 4 times per year typically at Aldersley Leisure Centre or the Bingley Centre in Pennfields.
The main forum is supported by sub-groups where detail proposals are worked. Council officers consult with cyclists in these groups in the following areas :-
- INFRASTRUCTURE SUB GROUP - cycling input to forthcoming road safety, maintenance and major schemes. Projects on cycle-specific infrastructure around the network.
- COMMUNICATION AND MONITORING SUB-GROUP.
- LEISURE AND TRAINING SUB-GROUP
